Longrow 10 Year Old Original Bottling
Made at the Springbank distillery, Longrow differs from its more famous sibling in that it is made with peated barley – and as such shares characteristics with the nearby Islay distilleries. Complex and peaty.
The nose is quite full and floral. There are bruised petals and blossoms and notes of grist. A hint of thick-cut marmalade and fresh herbs. A very faint smoke trails somewhere in the distance. The palate is quite big and firm. There is a solid slab of peat with a good malty feel. A well-balanced sweetness emerges with notes of sugared peels and tangerine with a hint of lime. The finish is quite long with citrus zest and oaked warmth.
